Wayne Rooney reportedly accepted a fine of a week's. Ahead of tomorrow night's clash with Newcastle United at Sports Direct Arena, manager Sir Alex Ferguson had this to say about Wazza's availability, "Wayne Rooney will be available of course," Ferguson told radio station Sirius XM. Rooney, 26, angered United boss Fergie after going out with team-mates Darron Gibson and Jonny Evans on Boxing Day. Ferguson fined him a week’s wages – $310,000 – and dropped him from the following game against bottom of the league table, Blackburn Rovers.
The 70 year old coach also shared his views on banning Rooney for a bit considering the forward did not show the full fitness to be ready for a Premier League match. Without Rooney, the Red Devils fell to the last place Blackburn Rovers 3-2.
Perhaps Rooney opted to use some hair gel for his flight to Newcastle or maybe the lift was due to a vigorous back comb - but either way the sportsman felt it was time for a change. The United boss is hoping to have a clutch of his injured stars back available for selection, as the champions look to bounce back from their humiliating defeat against Blackburn.
