World Cup History

For one month every four years, hundreds of millions of people around the world turn their attention to the World Cup. There is no sporting event more popular than the World Cup. People call in sick to work, fans pack into bars to watch games or stay home for days at a time glued to their TV sets, and even wars stop. Nothing else seems to matter. In A History of the World Cup: 1930-2010, Clemente Lisi chronicles this international phenomenon, providing vivid accounts of individual games from the tournament's origins in 1930 to modern times.

Including Diego Maradona, Juste Fontaine, Franz Beckenbauer, Mario Kempes, Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and, of course, Pele. It features a glossary of terms, statistics for each competition, photos, and profiles of the most memorable and controversial figures of the sport. Though other histories of the World Cup largely ignore the United States' contribution to the competition, this volume highlights the progress of the American teams over the last several decades. World Cup provides a fascinating read for fans of the game Updated with a new chapter on the 2010 World Cup and with profiles of those players who stood out in the latest competition along with revised statistical information A History of the World Cup.

Brazil National Football Team In 1994 USA World Cup

Still talking about the memories of 1994 World Cup in United States. As a champion of that time, there are some things I remember from the Brazilian team. One of them is a very harmonious duet assailant and in my opinion, including a duet / pair the best strikers of all time. They are Romario & Bebeto.

Special to Bebeto, the most I remember when the World Cup is the typical way he was when celebrating a goal. What is it? Each bust nets over the opposing team's goal, Bebeto has always celebrated by wiggling its arms like a baby when you're rocking:)

Brazil coach in 1994 is Carlos Alberto Parreira. '94 World Cup's best player was achieved by Romario (who donated a total of 5 goals for Brazil).

There are special when Brazil beat Italy in the final 94 and become champions. Not because it is a trophy to-4 for the country, so that they become the holder of the world champion ever (at that time).

U.S. World Cup 1994

United States (U.S.) host the World Cup. All parties agreed to get rid of doubts over the alleged remarks will quiet the people, when passing stool is held in the U.S.. In fact, the U.S. public was welcome enough bells and whistles.

Opening of the 1994 World Cup held in an extraordinary way. The opening ceremony took place very lively and full of highlights with the involvement of celebrities. The three leaders also attended: U.S. President, Bill Clinton (as host), the German Chancellor, Helmut Kohl, and the President of Bolivia, Gonzalo Sanches de Lozada.

Unfortunately, no highlights on stage along with the sparkling on the gridiron. Appearance of the teams of participants was not too promising. Brazil, although always a favorite, feels less productive.

Netherlands and Italy are the same. Although the group winners, the appearance of the Netherlands is still far from the generation of Johan Cruyff and Johan Neeskens. Italy had barely escaped and was only ranked third in the group though eventually advanced to the finals.

Argentina was more memalukan.Lolos from the group stage, in the last 16 Tango team's 2-3 defeat of Romania. Not only that, superstar Maradona even tarnish the name of Argentina.

With a slightly overweight body, the appearance of Maradona far below its performance so far. The man who is now the coach of Argentina is still trying to be able to provide the best performance. However, how that is done quite promiscuously.

He then proved using doping (drug hyper durability / performance), after two caps for his team. Maradona then forbidden to continue the next game with teams of Argentina.

The team with big name English and French did not even participate. England were knocked out by Norway in the qualifying round. Not only that, teams from the region for the first time Britain had not been represented at the World Cup. They all fell down in qualifying.

1994 World Cup is only affirmed the might of Brazil. Champions in the group stage, Brazil consecutive win over the U.S. 1-0 in the final perdelapan and Dutch in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Brazil's 1-0 win over Sweden which was held 1-1 in the allowance.

While the Italians stop the Nigeria 2-1 in extra-time final-eighths. The next team is eliminated Italy 2-1 in the quarter-finals Spain and Bulgaria 2-1 in the semifinals. Meet Brazil and Italy in the final.

Italian guard more territory defense. Franco Baresi with the entire cast, including Alberigo Evani, Demetrio Albertini, Luigi Appolini, Dino Baggio, and others struggling in their own area. Only Roberto Baggio more running around in front.

Although mastering the field, Brazil did not look dominant. Cafu, Branco, Dunga, Rai, Mazinho, and Romaria Faria seems difficult to disassemble the Italian defense. Results 0-0 extra-time until the inevitable. There followed the first penalty shootout in the World Cup final.

Brazil ahead 3-2 and continued the tradition as title-ever. This is the fourth time Brazil won the world championship football.

USA World Cup 1994 Mini Trivia

Worldcup 1994 in USA was giving a lot of incredible memory, do you remember Georghe Hagi? A Romania's playmaker from whom able to make goal in long distance. Because of him, a big nation footballer like Colombia must lost their hope. Hagi is a legend footballer, with long distance goals, the best.

In worldcup USA 1994, still fresh in our memory mind, how Roberto Baggio failed to make a goal in last penalty shoot at final versus Brasil. The ball fly above further out of our mind expectation, Italy loose... Brasil win.

Jurgen Klinsmann, named for one of the best striker in World Cup USA 1994, he made the first hattrick when Germany win to Bolivia. Germany still a giant nation footballer ever. Two other giant nation footballer, England and France, were not play at the match. But at 1990 World Cup in Italy, England made a great playing... We're still remember Gary Lineker, of course.

Romario Faria, Brasil striker, due with Bebeto, he's like Maradona's view in 1986 Mexico World Cup. Batistuta, Caniggia, were the Argentina's footballer who viewed "sunny" at USA World Cup 1994.
