Guardiola has become one of the foster children when Cruyff led the Catalan giants in the early 80s and he was deeply admired his mentor.

Even 40-year-old coach was claimed to have continued the philosophy of attacking the Dutch legend in Barcelona with his squad now and the current performance is a reflection of what he had learned from Cruyff.

"Johan Cruyff was my biggest influence. I spent six years with him and I learned many things," said Guardiola on the official FIFA website.

"Juan Manuel Lillo also an essential figure. He was my coach even though only six months in Culiacan, Mexico, but we have good times and I learned a lot from him."

"I really respect him and thank him, because he was very generous and pass on his knowledge to me. And too much knowledge," added Guardiola.

Guardiola's squad will face the representatives of Asia, Al-Sadd in the party the Club World Cup semi-final this evening.
